Your engagement photos should always feel like you. And, to top it off, your engagement photos should always be FUN. That’s why we opted for an intimate in-home DTLA engagement session for Josephine and Davone. They live in downtown LA in one of the most beautiful apartments I’ve ever seen. So, we took advantage of their beautiful space and made it the backdrop for their intimate in-home engagement session! Afterwards, we drove to the DTLA Arts District for some more modern and funky engagement photos.
What is an “Intimate In-Home Engagement Session”?
The words “intimate” and “in-home” are trending in the photography world as of late. But, I realized that there are probably a lot of people who have zero idea what we photographers are talking about.
An intimate in-home engagement session means that your photographer (hopefully me!) meets you at your home, and we take pictures there rather than in some fancy outside location. In-home sessions are nice because they capture a really intimate part of your life — your home!
Also, people are often more comfortable at home, so this can help cut down on the nerves of being outside and having other people watching you while you have your photos taken.
What if my house isn’t cute?
If you don’t feel like your house is photo-worthy, think again. I’ll show you how beautiful and photo-worthy it truly is.
But, if you really aren’t feeling it but still want those in-home vibes, you can always rent out a cute Airbnb! That’s what Taylor and Matt did for their Joshua Tree National Park engagement session! Click here to check it out!
Is it hard to photograph in DTLA?
It can be difficult to photograph in DTLA…if you don’t know the good spots. Hint: I know the good spots. I’ve been on multiple scouting trips to find the best views, calmest streets, and coolest walls. The proof is in the pics, y’all! We took these at a secluded part of the DTLA Arts District. If you book me, I’ll gladly show you where it is.
